Michael Jacobs was appointed by the Governor as the Chairman of the Coal Ash Management Commission, which is responsible for reviewing and approving plans to clean up the 32 coal ash disposal sites throughout North Carolina. The Commission is comprised of nine people; three people appointed each by the House, Senate and Governor. The Governor selected the chairman.
