Pab Jotikasthira wins Barbara Clark-Edward Award for doctoral students with his proposal "Why do Term Structures in Different Currencies Move Together?"

The Indiana University Center for International Business Education & Research awarded a $2,500 research award to Kenan-Flagler finance faculty Pab Jotikasthira for his proposal, "Why do Term Structures in Different Currencies Move Together?".  The CIBER is pleased to be able to help talented students carry out their research around the world.

Journal of Financial Economics best paper contest awards the Jensen Prize for Corporate Finance and Organizations to Anil Shivdasani.
The 2007 Journal of Financial Economics best paper contest awarded second prize of the Jensen Prize for Corporate Finance and Organizations to Anil Shivdasani for the “Financial fraud, director reputation, and shareholder wealth”, co-authored with Eliezer Fich. The paper was published in JFE vol. 86, issue 2, November 2007, p.306-336.
 
October 2007: Robert Engle (NYU) and Eric Ghysels (UNC) co-founded The Society for Financial Econometrics SoFiE (www.nyu.edu/sofie).
SoFiE is a global network of academics and practitioners dedicated to the fast-growing field of financial econometrics. The society will be associated with the Journal of Financial Econometrics.
 

Duke University and the University of North Carolina organized the 2nd Duke-UNC Asset Pricing Conference, designed to bring together leading scholars in the field. The symposium was held in Durham on Friday afternoon, Dec 7, and Saturday, Dec 8, 2007.

The conference was jointly sponsored by the Fuqua Business School, Duke University, and the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina.
