The Organizational Behavior area is the interdisciplinary study of individuals and groups in organizations and focuses on individual, group, and organizational effectiveness.
Our faculty specialize in research on leadership, teams, power, influence, ethics, negotiations, work design, motivation, stress, person-environment fit, organizational culture, performance, and well-being. Our research regularly appears in the most prestigious journals in Organizational Behavior and related disciplines. We serve on the editorial boards of the leading journals in the field and have held editorial positions for Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Research Methods, and Management Science. Members of our faculty have been elected to positions on the executive committees of the Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, and Research Methods divisions of the Academy of Management, have received career contribution awards from the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and are among the Fellows of the Academy of Management, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the American Psychological Association.
We teach core and elective courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. We also contribute to the portfolio of executive development programs delivered by the school, covering issues in leadership, decision-making, performance management, negotiations, power and influence, innovation and creativity, teamwork, organizational change, and human capital. Members of our faculty have won teaching awards at the school and university levels for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
