I am a PhD Candidate in Organizational Behavior at the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My research lies primarily within the area of person-environment fit, which I use as a framework to examine such topics as work-family conflict, stress and well-being, and job satisfaction. In my dissertation, I utilize P-E fit to consider the impact of disruptive events and experiences at work. In a second area of research, groups and teams, I examine such topics as creativity and leadership.
I earned my MBA from Brigham Young University in 2011 and my Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Spanish, with honors, from Brigham Young University in 2005. Prior to beginning my PhD, I worked for several years in accounting and finance positions at Ernst & Young, Ancestry.com, and Zions Bancorporation.
Outside of school, I am most likely to be found trying to keep up with my three energetic children. Together we enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, and building Lego creations. I am also a musician and play the piano and the cello. I am currently a cellist in the Chapel Hill Philharmonia, a community orchestra that rehearses weekly during the academic year, with four concerts each season. In addition, I volunteer weekly as a pianist for my church's children's group. Aside from music, I also enjoy running and playing tennis. I have run two marathons and two half marathons, and recently (April 2016) completed the Tar Heel 10 Miler.
